Staying Healthy

man on exercise bikeWe hope The Handbook tells you what you need to know in order to stay healthy.  It takes more than medicine to treat a bleeding disorder.  In this chapter we look at more ways to stay healthy.

Staying Healthy starts out by listing the things people with bleeding disorders should know about their own health.  We tell you things you can do to prevent some common problems.  We talk about how physical therapy and exercise are used in bleeding disorder care.  Then there are useful facts for everyone about taking care of your teeth, watching what you eat, using medicine the right way, and having less stress in your life.

The last sections of Staying Healthy were written with parents in mind.  The pages about safety, shots (immunizations), and babysitters answer questions many parents have about keeping children with bleeding disorders healthy and safe.
