Make a difference in your community. Hemophilia of Georgia depends on volunteers for
Generation of Heroes is Hemophilia of Georgia's youth leadership program, developed in collaboration with GUIDE (Gwinnett United in Drug Education). Teens and young adults age 13 to 21 are eligible to participate in the program which focuses on building leadership skills. Through the GoH program, participants learn how to develop the skills they need to lead healthy and successful lives. In addition, the teens learn how they can make a difference in the bleeding disorder community.
While all HoG events and programs include leadership training and education, specific Generation of Heroes activities have included:
During the first year of the GoH program, the teens focused on learning how to identify and prevent bullying.
The GoH program was recognized with a Youth Advocacy Award from the Georgia Department of Human Resources Division of Public Health Office of Prevention Services and Programs at the 5th Annual HEARTS Celebration on April 16, 2008.
