Volunteer Spotlight

Jay TWe are pleased to introduce volunteer Jay Tinkoff. Jay attended one of the auction dinners that HoG held about ten years ago.  After just one phone call he has been an invaluable volunteer for the last nine years.

Jay has worked on the auction and now the golf tournament planning committees and has done everything from building a 22 ft. cardboard ship to cooking hamburgers on the golf course. No job is ever too big or too small for Jay. He is always willing to help out and always arrives with a big hug and smile for everyone. He feels that his work with fellow committee members has been a terrific experience. Knowing that the work he and the other volunteers do helps raise money for research and helps adults and children with bleeding disorders gives him a great feeling.

We asked him what his most memorable volunteer moment at HoG was and he replied, “One of my most memorable times at HoG was having my son come in and help out with the committee. Everyone was so nice to him and I really enjoyed volunteering with him.”

Jay is a resident of Alpharetta and has worked in the textile business for over 20 years. He also volunteers time with The Drake House, an organization that provides temporary housing along with an empowerment program for homeless women and their children and helps them to self sufficiency. In whatever free time Jay has between work and volunteering he likes to play tennis and golf as well as work out at the gym.

We are truly thankful that Jay has decided to volunteer with HoG. His enthusiasm and fantastic smile on even the rainiest day seem sunny. Thank you Jay for all you do for HoG and everyone that you work with here!
