For many people with bleeding disorders and other expensive conditions, lifetime caps on health insurance policies are a constant worry. Bills have been introduced in both chambers of Congress that will increase the minimum lifetime caps on health insurance plans to $10 million and raise the cap each year thereafter to match inflation.
Hemophilia of Georgia asks everyone to contact your Congressman and Senators and ask them to cosponsor the Health Insurance Coverage Protection Act (H.R. 6528 / S. 2706). Find out more about this important bill and how your help can make a difference.
The National Hemophilia Foundation has enlisted the help of several hemophilia chapters to assist in a national survey. Someone from the HoG chapter may be contacting you soon to ask a few eligibility questions and obtain your signature on the required consent forms. Once you have signed up you will then be contacted by a professional interviewer from Macro International. Participants of the survey will be asked about hemophilia management, treatment products, and exercise. The study will also look at where people with hemophilia get hemophilia information. Be on the look out for a call from an HoG staff member to participate in this very important survey!
