Trot to Clot Walk and Run to Raise Money for Camp Wannaklot

Hemophilia of Georgia invites you to participate in the Trot to Clot Walk and Run on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Stone Mountain Park. Last year's Trot to Clot Walks and Run raised $35,000. This year we hope to raise $40,000 for Camp Wannaklot. Everyone who registers to walk or run by April 27th will receive a Trot to Clot t-shirt and free admission to Stone Mountain Park, a $10 value. 3000 IU BeneFIX Coming Soon!

Pfizer has announced that a 3000 IU size of BeneFIX was approved by the FDA in November. It is expected to be available in the HoG and Beacon pharmacies in the next few weeks. This convenient size can also be stored at room temperature or under refrigeration for up to two years. Read more.

Hemophilia Day at the Capitol

Hemophilia Day at the State Capitol will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. We’ll talk to the members of the General Assembly about legislation that will impact people with bleeding disorders. Read more.

Important: State of Georgia Employees

Employees of the state of Georgia who meet the income requirements may now choose to have their children covered under PeachCare for Kids instead of the State Health Benefit Plan. Even though the out-of-pocket costs are lower with PeachCare, parents of children with expensive medical conditions like hemophilia should think carefully before making this change. Read more.

Hemophilia of Georgia’s Teen Retreat

A group of 71 HoG staff, volunteers, and teenagers descended on Tybee Island, Georgia for a holiday weekend spent learning about the environment, serving the local community, and developing their four-square skills. Read more.
