Each year, Hemophilia of Georgia recognizes the courage in soon-to-be independent self-infusers. The coveted Butterfly Award is awarded only at Camp Wannaklot, a weeklong summer camp for children and teens with bleeding disorders. The award is earned when a camper is able to stick themselves, which is an important step in learning self-infusion.

The Butterfly Award is an important milestone to joining the ranks of the Mighty Sticker Club. To become a Mighty Sticker Club member, one must master the steps of self-infusion, including mixing factor, selecting a vein, sticking oneself, infusing factor, and completing a treatment calendar.

Congratulations to those who conquered their fears and are on their way to independence.
