Horizons in Hemophilia, June 2009
By Vic McCarty, Director of Development
Hemophilia of Georgia will host the 27th annual Hit 'Em for Hemophilia Golf Tournament on October 27, 2009 at Château Élan Winery & Resort in Braselton, Georgia. Proceeds from this event each year are used to fund research for a cure for inherited bleeding disorders. Approximately 300 golfers are expected to participate in this year's golf tournament. A reception will immediately follow the tournament and will include awarding of first and second place and team prizes from each of the courses, contest hole winners from each course and special sponsorship recognition. The tournament co-chairs for the event are Bill Acree of the Atlanta Braves and Janet Glass, long-time HoG volunteer and former board member.
AT&T Mobility, LLC; Baxter, Bayer HealthCare; Bechtel Communications; CSL Behring, LLC; Nokia; Virgil P. Warren Foundation; Wyeth Pharmaceuticals; and ZWJ Investment Council have already committed to the 2009 Hit 'Em for Hemophilia Golf Tournament. Sponsorship opportunities are available for corporations of all sizes and can be tailored to meet the needs of any company. Individual golfer registration is also available and individuals who are interested in playing in the tournament are encouraged to register with HoG.
Raffle and auction items are now being solicited from local vendors for the event and HoG plans to secure at least 100 raffle or auction items. These items will be available during the reception immediately following the tournament. Additionally, the reception will include a silent and live auction.
