Camp Wannaklot received generous support of nearly $30,000 for the 2009 camping program, held last month at Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge, Georgia. Contributors to the Camp Wannaklot annual appeal mailing had the opportunity to become a Deputy, Sheriff or U.S. Marshal by supporting campers' attendance at Camp Wannaklot. These donations helped support a Camp Wannaklot camper for a day of camp, a camper for one half of the camp week, or an entire cabin of campers for one day of Camp Wannaklot.

Over 140 campers attended camp the week of July 27 and enjoyed specialized programs including a county fair complete with an animal show and livestock judging; horseback riding for all campers; a Team Hemophilia event facilitated by NHF and members of the National Youth Leadership Institute (NYLI); special guest appearances from the Atlanta Hawks team members; and time spent in the newly-constructed tree house. As you can see in some of the photos from camp, the campers had an amazing time this year.

Donations to Camp Wannaklot are still being accepted and can be made through August 31, 2009 at https://www.hog.org/fundraising/camp_donate.asp.
