Camp Twin Lakes to Host 4th Annual Spin for Kids

Horizons in Hemophilia, August 2009

By Vic McCarty, Director of Development

The fourth annual Spin for Kids Bike ride is scheduled for Sunday – October 25, 2009 at Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge, Georgia.  Camp Wannaklot needs your support and Hemophilia of Georgia would like to encourage you and your family members and friends to participate in this event.  Participants can register to ride on the Camp Wannaklot team or raise money for the Camp Wannaklot team by registering at https://www.spinforkids.org.

Rides will begin and end at Camp Twin Lakes which is 50 miles east of Atlanta. Five courses will allow riders of various skill levels, from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist, to participate in this exciting event. This year, we will feature 5, 27, 47, 62, and 100-mile rides. All routes are fully supported with premium rest stops, SAG wagons, and motorcycle escorts.  The courses will take riders through rural Northeast Georgia and the historic towns of Madison and Rutledge.

Camp Twin Lakes works in collaboration with its partnering camps to provide customized programs, medical care and services for each group of campers. Fees paid by the partnering camp organizations cover 30% of the total cost to send a child to camp.  Partnering organizations of Camp Twin Lakes have the opportunity to raise money by forming their own fundraising teams. Money raised by our Partners' teams will go toward associated camper fees to Camp Twin Lakes.  The Spin for Kids event has raised over $10,000 to date.
