Horizons in Hemophilia, April 2011

Hemophilia of Georgia’s annual Volunteer Reception was held Tuesday, April 12 in Roswell, Georgia.  More than 100 people attended the evening reception honoring the volunteers who served HoG during 2010.

Throughout the year, 167 people gave nearly 8,000 hours of service to HoG in various ways, including:

  • participating in board and committee meetings
  • attending monthly working group meetings
  • serving as volunteer counselors at Camp Wannaklot and Family Camp
  • assisting with the coordination and logistics of the Hit 'Em for Hemophilia Golf Tournament
  • volunteering at the Trot to Clot Walk
  • securing corporate sponsorship for the golf tournament and walks.

At the reception, HoG honored seven people who have volunteered for more than 20 years, six people who have served 11 to 19 years, 36 people who have served one to ten years, and eight first-time volunteers.
