Dear HoG: How Can I Give Back?

Horizons in Hemophilia, May 2012

Dear HoG:

My 9-year-old son is very excited about attending Camp Wannaklot this summer. My family went to the family camp weekend in March and had an awesome time.  We really appreciate all that HoG does for my family.  We’ve been so pleased with the nurse who helped our son learn how to self infuse.  The HoG social worker also helped our family last year with some insurance issues we had a hard time resolving.  Your organization is wonderful!  How can I give back and support HoG to say thanks for all that you’ve done to support my family?

Sincerely,

So Appreciative

Dear So Appreciative:
We’re so glad to be able to help your family and also that you were able to go to family camp.  Your son will have a blast at Camp Wannaklot! HoG is always looking for volunteers.  Camp Wannaklot relies on nearly 100 volunteers each summer to serve as camp counselors.  In addition, the annual Hit ’Em for Hemophilia golf tournament (celebrating its 30th season this fall) needs about 40 volunteers to help raise money for bleeding disorders research.

Of course, HoG also relies on financial contributions to help with the many client programs and activities we offer each year.  HoG's website includes information on ways that you can volunteer for HoG or make financial contributions and “give back” to the organization. You can also call Kim or Vic at the office to learn more about ways you can help.
