Looking for an easy, pain-free way to support research?  Opting in to the ATHNdataset may be one answer. The American Thrombosis and Hemostasis Network (ATHN) is a non-profit organization committed to advancing and improving care for individuals affected by bleeding and clotting disorders.  ATHN has partnered with over 130 HTCs to establish a safe, secure national database—and to create a dataset, the ATHNdataset, to support outcomes analysis, research, public health reporting and advocacy.

As of today, over 10,000 patients across the country have chosen to join the ATHNdataset. This is exciting news and an important milestone to creating and growing this national resource.

The ATHNdataset is:

• Confidential: all information used to identify individuals is removed
• Simple: no special blood tests, procedures, or treatments are required
• Secure: it will only be used for research and advocacy

One of the greatest benefits of the ATHNdataset is its power to begin addressing questions that haven’t been answered before about bleeding and clotting disorders, inhibitors and treatment. The ATHNdataset opens the door to new possibilities for our community, now and for future generations.

The value of the ATHNdataset lies in your participation. The more patients contribute their information, the more certain we can be that the ATHNdataset represents the whole community.
