Dear HoG: New Medication Procedures
Horizons in Hemophilia, October 2013
Dear HoG: I noticed a change in how my medication was packed. There was a corrugated box liner in between the layers of ice packs. Why are you doing this? --Curious
Dear Curious: This change will help keep the ice packs at a more consistent temperature in shipping. We will continue to put the ice packs in plastic bags to cut down on moisture and leaks that might occur. Some orders will have to ship in more than one box due to the added liners and ice packs. If you order a large number of supplies they will be shipped in a separate non-insulated box. Your medication order will be shipped overnight to arrive on the requested delivery day.
- When your shipment arrives, check the shipping label and dosage sheets inside the box to make sure that you have received all of your order. The shipping label will tell you how many boxes we shipped to you.
- Call the pharmacy immediately if your order arrives damaged or if you are missing a box.
- We track your order until it is delivered and contact you if there are shipping delays. If medication is shipped to a residential address it could take up until 7:00 pm to deliver in some areas.
Please call the HoG office and ask to speak to the Pharmacy at (770) 518-8272 if you have any questions.
