HoG Nurses are Available for School In-Service Presentations

It is almost time for another school year to begin. HoG outreach nurses are available to do school in-service presentations. It is very important for teachers, nurses and other school personnel to be familiar with your child’s bleeding disorder. Having your outreach nurse discuss bleeding disorders with school personnel will help them know what to do for any bleeding problem that might arise as well as ease fears of caring for a child with a bleeding disorder.

Your child’s safety is of utmost importance. Whether your child is going to a new school or has new teachers or the school just needs a review from last year, it is always a good idea to have an in-service to ensure that everyone involved in your child’s care is aware of how to care for your child and what to do in an emergency.

You will be receiving the HoG permission form in the mail soon. If you would like your outreach nurse to do an in-service, please complete the permission form and return it to us so we can make the arrangements.  If you do not receive the form, you may also contact your outreach nurse directly.

Remember, the more the school personnel are educated about bleeding disorders, the safer your child will be.
