Hemophilia of Georgia Board of Directors Names Maria Pérez Manahan as CEO

The Hemophilia of Georgia Board of Directors announced on March 9, 2015 that it has appointed Maria Manahan as Chief Executive Officer. Maria will assume leadership of Hemophilia of Georgia on April 1, 2015 from current CEO, Trish Dominic, who is retiring after 30 years at the organization’s helm.

If you think Row for Hemophilia sounds like a nice little fundraising event taking place at a local fitness center, you may be surprised to learn that it is actually a 2,500 mile unassisted row across the Pacific Ocean to raise money for Hemophilia of Georgia.

11Alive Reporter Jaye Watson Conducts Row for Hemophilia Interview

Wednesday, March 4 was a very exciting day for Hemophilia of Georgia and Row for Hemophilia. Award- winning 11Alive reporter Jaye Watson spent several hours on location interviewing Jacob and Chris, two University of Georgia students who plan to raise money for Hemophilia of Georgia by rowing unassisted across the Pacific Ocean in June 2016.

 

Washington Days

Every year, Hemophilia of Georgia volunteers accompany staff members to Washington, DC for the sole purpose of learning about advocacy and visiting legislators.

 

Volunteer Spotlight: Beta Sigma Phi Xi Master Chapter

Volunteers are an essential part of Hemophilia of Georgia’s success, providing over 7,600 hours last year to help prepare for and assist with programs like Camp Wannaklot, Trot to Clot Walk & Runs, the Hit ’Em for Hemophilia Golf Tournament and many other projects
