Volunteer Opportunities Overview
Special Events: Hemophilia of Georgia (HoG) sponsors fundraising events throughout the year. These annual events include the Hit 'Em for Hemophilia Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held in October 2008 at Château Élan in Braselton, GA.
Planning committee volunteers are needed to help coordinate decorations and event set-up, and solicitation of prizes and corporate sponsorships.
Event day volunteers are also needed to assist with registration, decorations and set-up, and other tasks as needed. There's something for everyone.
Family Programs: If you enjoy working with children, then we have just the volunteer opportunity for you. HoG sponsors a wide variety of youth and family programs during the year. These programs include an adolescent retreat, women's awareness programs, men's activities, and spring and fall Family Camp Weekends. Each program is designed to provide a unique opportunity for individuals and families to share concerns and ideas with others facing similar challenges. Volunteers are needed to serve as chaperones and assist with other program details as needed.
In addition, HoG sponsors Camp Wannaklot, a weeklong summer camp for children who have an inherited bleeding disorder. Volunteers are needed to work directly with children as camp counselors or to serve on the Camp Wannaklot Working Group.
Pharmacy Support: Volunteers are needed on a quarterly basis to help package medical supplies for mailing to clients.
Opportunities with HoG are not limited to those listed. We encourage inividuals to utilize their unique skills and abilities in a meaningful way. We hope you will consider joining our team of dedicated volunteers and share your time and talents with us.
