Hemophilia of Georgia received an urgent but voluntary product recall for Heparin I.V. Flush syringes manufactured by Medefil, Inc. Nineteen lots of these syringes were recalled because of a contaminant in the Heparin Sodium USP, the active pharmaceutical ingredient in the syringes, which is manufactured by Scientific Protein Laboratories LLC.
Hemophilia of Georgia did purchase some of the recalled syringes but none have been used or distributed to clients. If you have any questions about this recall, please contact the HoG pharmacy at 770 518-8272.
