A Message from the HoG CEO

Maria Manahan headshot photo

I want you to know that I have accepted the CEO position with another nonprofit and will be leaving Hemophilia of Georgia (HoG) in mid-October. I will be joining the Atlanta-based Campbell-Stone Retirement Communities. This was a difficult decision to make.

For 18 years, I have had the pleasure to work with the premier provider of programs and services for the bleeding disorder community. I love HoG and its mission. The staff and board of directors have been phenomenal to work with through the years. It has been an amazing experience serving as CEO.

I have a second passion, serving senior adults. My background is in gerontology and I came to HoG after almost seven years at Campbell-Stone. Over the years, I have remained connected with Campbell-Stone, and most recently served on its board of directors. The opportunity to serve as its CEO was unexpected and also very exciting.

After I leave in October, Karen Geney, VP of Human Resources, will be interim CEO. Karen has been with HoG for 21 years and brings a wealth of experience to the agency. You will be in good hands during the transition and search for the new CEO.

You have encouraged and supported me in so many ways. It has been my honor and pleasure to serve the bleeding disorder community. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Maria Manahan, CEO
Hemophilia of Georgia
