Hemophilia of Georgia Day at the Capitol

2018 Hemophilia of Georgia Day at the Capitol

By Nichelle Sims, J.D., Associate Director of Research & Advocacy

Published March 30, 2018

March 6, 2018, was Hemophilia of Georgia Day at the Capitol. There were two resolutions adopted honoring Hemophilia of Georgia, one by Representative Cooper (HR 1408) and the other by Representative Lopez (HR 1401). Hemophilia of Georgia (HoG) employees, trained advocates from the HoG advocacy program, a junior board member, and several volunteers raised awareness by speaking to citizens and elected officials about bleeding disorders and related healthcare concerns. The General Assembly was in recess that day so we were not recognized in the gallery. We will stay in touch with our state representatives to ask for their continued support on legislation that affects the bleeding disorder community.
