Are You Ready to Take Your Career to the Next Level?

Hemophilia of Georgia (HoG) has developed a program to assist eligible applicants in pursuing career advancements. The professional development program can be used to assist in paying for expenses such as:

  • Literacy courses
  • English as a second language courses
  • Career certifications (e.g., medical assistant, nursing assistant)
  • Assistance with Continuing Education Units (CEU) to maintain professional certifications/licenses
  • GED preparation and testing
  • College application costs
  • Standardized tests for admissions costs (e.g., ACT, SAT, GRE, LSAT)
  • Professional exams (e.g., bar exam, teachers’ exam, registered nurse exam)

To qualify, you must:*

  • Have hemophilia, von Willebrand Disease (VWD), or another inherited bleeding disorder or be a custodial parent of a child under the age of 18 with an inherited bleeding disorder
  • Reside in Georgia and have been a permanent resident of Georgia for one year
  • Have income below 500 percent of Federal Poverty Limit  
  • Submit proof of financial need with your application and apply annually

* You cannot be a current recipient of the John Youtsey Academic Scholarship. The professional development program does not assist with college tuition.
