Atlanta Braves and HoG Hall of Fame Celebration

Published October 9, 2014

By Kirstin Downie, Director of Development

Three Atlanta Braves legends were inducted into the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown this past July and in honor of the long standing partnership with the team, Hemophilia of Georgia is celebrating this defining moment in Braves history throughout the month of October.

Earlier this month, HoG hosted a special online auction with items ranging from once-in-a-lifetime experiences with Hall of Fame Atlanta Braves players, to autographed, authenticated and game-used memorabilia. More than $10,000 was raised for research to find a cure for hemophilia.

Many Braves sports celebrities will join the more than 140 golfers already registered to hit the links on Tuesday, October 28 at The Manor Golf and Country Club and Echelon Golf Club in Alpharetta. Event registration and golfer check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a shotgun start planned for 10:30 a.m., and an awards reception immediately following the tournament.

One of the tournament’s most unique features are “food hole” stations located throughout both courses. Local Atlanta restaurants Rising Roll Gourmet, Roux on Canton, and Zoës Kitchen, will provide samples of their signature or new dishes for golfers to taste as they make their way around the course. A new addition to the tournament this year is the opportunity for golfers to bid on silent auction items throughout the day using mobile bidding on their smart phones. Immediately following the tournament, prizes from Mizuno and Brown & Company Jewelers will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place team from each course and to the Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive winners from each course. The reception features silent and live auctions with exclusive Atlanta Braves memorabilia and specialty sports, music, art, jewelry, and travel auction items.

HoG is pleased to announce that sponsorship commitments to-date exceed $100,000 and a few sponsorship opportunities are still available. We would like to thank the following companies for their support and sponsorship of the 2014 golf tournament:  Atlanta Braves, CSL Behring, LLC, Baxter International Inc., Novo Nordisk, Pfizer, Biogen Idec, Amerigroup Community Care, Merrill Lynch, Emergent BioSolutions, ZWJ Investment Counsel, Grifols, Brown & Company Jewelers, and Bank of North Georgia.
