Celebrating HoG Nurses During National Nurses Week May 6 – 12
National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6 and ends on May 12, Florence Nightingale's birthday. Just as Nightingale carried her lamp through the night to check on wounded soldiers, today’s nurses have shined their light on everyone in our community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
As we reflect on the past year, our families have witnessed the critical role and significant impact nurses have on the health and well-being of our families and our society as a whole. We have also seen how nurses across the country have put their own lives at risk to help others during the COVID-19 pandemic. There is absolutely no better time to celebrate nurses and show them our appreciation than right now!
This year’s theme for International Nurses Day (#IND2021) is “A Voice to Lead.” That is exactly what nurses across the country and around the globe are doing every day. Nurses step forward to help others, even when facing their own personal and family challenges. They are a special breed of healers and doers. We appreciate all that our Hemophilia of Georgia nurses do every day. Especially during National Nurses Week, we want to honor them and show them the love and support they consistently give to everyone else in our community!

Additionally, we celebrate Jeff Cornett, Vice President of Research and Public Policy, and Julie Hayman, Director of Payer Solutions, both of whom are registered nurses.
