Educate Your Child’s School on Bleeding Disorders
Did you know Hemophilia of Georgia outreach nurses can help educate your child’s school or daycare?
We offer school in-services for teachers and staff to help them understand bleeding disorders and how to respond in an emergency. These sessions are an important step in creating a safe, supportive environment so your child can thrive both academically and socially.
Our team can:
- Provide education on bleeding disorders and treatment basics
- Review signs and symptoms of a bleed and when to act
- Help staff understand emergency response and care plans
- Answer questions and build confidence in supporting your child
Getting started is easy:
- Contact your outreach nurse
- Not sure who your nurse is? Contact Erica Hunter at 770-518-8272, and she’ll help connect you
- You’ll be asked to complete a permission form so we can coordinate directly with the school or daycare
- Prefer to share information yourself? We can provide an education packet for you to give to school staff
We’re here to support you every step of the way and help ensure your child has a safe, happy, and successful school year.
