Hemophilia: The Musical, My New York Experience

Hemophilia The Musical Picture of Leaa and Patrick

Being a part of Hemophilia: The Musical was a big inspiration in my life. When I first got the call to be a part of it, it didn’t feel real. Actually flying to New York made me realize I had the chance to tell my story through acting and melodies.

Being in New York taught me a lot. It opened my eyes and I met new friends. The producer and vocal and dance coaches were amazing people. I was very shy on the first day, but luckily by the third day, I became social. When I arrived in New York, we had rehearsal that night for an hour. The next couple of days we had massive rehearsal which turned out to be 13 hours long, but it was all worth it.

We got to see Times Square and went to this amazing pizza restaurant. We talked to professional actresses, actors, and singers for advice about being on Broadway. We also sang in the subway for hundreds of people.

I am very thankful for this experience. It made me more confident about having a bleeding disorder. I have the confidence to educate many more people about my life and explain how my disorder works. I hope to be a part of the second musical, coming soon.
