Hit ‘Em for Hemophilia Golf Tournament Hits a Hole in One!
Thank you to our partners, the Atlanta Braves, and the many golfers from across the country who came out and teed up to raise money for research for a cure at the 40th Anniversary Hit ’Em for Hemophilia Golf Tournament at The Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta. The crisp fall weather, beautiful sunshine, and smiling faces made the day perfect for playing golf!
Before the shotgun start, golfers heard from Ethan Welsch about how grateful he was to everyone who was there to support Hemophilia of Georgia’s efforts to fund research for a cure and help improve treatments for those living with inherited bleeding disorders. We also heard from Dr. Trent Spencer who provided an update on gene therapy research. Dr. Spencer explained the importance of the money raised for research at the golf tournament and how the ultimate goal of the research is a cure.
There were exciting door prizes and plenty of bidding action going on at the silent and live auctions! Golfers, reception guests, and volunteers had the opportunity to bid on sports memorabilia, travel experiences, collectible art, home décor, all-inclusive Braves tickets, and jewelry throughout the day by using their smartphones. Some of the most coveted items of the afternoon were an African Safari travel experience in the live auction, a John Hardy 18K gold and silver bracelet (compliments of Brown & Co. Jewelers), and a Garland Mountain Clay Shooting package.
