Hemophilia of Georgia held the annual Hit ‘Em for Hemophilia Golf Tournament on Monday, November 1, at Château Élan Winery and Resort in Braselton, Georgia.  More than 200 golfers participated in the tournament which was played on all three courses at Château Élan.

Due to the generous support of many organizations, the tournament raised over $230,000 for bleeding disorders research.   AT&T served as presenting sponsor for the event and was joined by over 40 corporate sponsors including the Atlanta Braves, Andrew Solutions, Hewlett-Packard, Bayer Healthcare, Baxter Healthcare, CSL Behring, Ericsson, Inc., General Dynamics Wireless, Delta Air Lines, Pfizer, TEKsystems, Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals and The Virgil P. Warren Foundation.

Honorary chair for this year’s event was Steve Sitton of AT&T.  The Atlanta Braves’ Bill Acree served as tournament chair, and announcer Joe Simpson assisted with the raffle during the reception.  Some of the 150 raffle prizes included sports apparel from the Atlanta Braves, weekend trips and autographed Atlanta Braves items from Bobby Cox, Brian McCann, Chipper Jones and Tim Hudson.  Live Auction items included Delta Air Lines ticket vouchers and an Atlanta Braves spring training weekend get-a-way.  The raffle and live auction raised more than $30,000.  Braves celebrities attending this year’s tournament included Brian McCann, Phil Neikro, Terry Pendleton, Freddie Gonzalez Bobby Cox, Tim Hudson, Frank Wren, John Schuerholtz, and Javy Lopez.

A special thanks to the Art of Food and Wildfire Atlanta-Perimeter Mall for serving food to the golfers on the Legends course.  General Mills supplied a variety of snacks to all tournament participants and United Distributors was once again the official beverage sponsor of the tournament.  S. Walter Packaging donated goodie bags for the golfers.

A special thank you to all the golfers, corporate sponsors, volunteers, staff, and Board members who helped to make the 2010 golf tournament a huge success!
