Each year, Hemophilia of Georgia awards John W. Youtsey Memorial Scholarships to Georgians in the bleeding disorder community. John W. Youtsey, former professor and Associate Dean of the College of Health Sciences at Georgia State University, provided leadership to Hemophilia of Georgia from its beginning in 1973 until his death in 1996.  He was a board member of Hemophilia of Georgia and chaired the Scholarship Committee.  Over the years, the John W. Youtsey Memorial Scholarship Program has awarded more than 400 scholarships totaling over $1,000,000.   In 2017, Hemophilia of Georgia awarded 35 young men and women scholarships totaling $100,000.
