New Storage Guidelines for Kogenate FS

Bayer has announced a change in the storage and handling of Kogenate FS. The product’s package insert now states it can be stored at temperatures up to 77 degrees Fahrenheit (considered “room temperature”) for up to 12 months. Previously, the product was only allowed room temperature storage for 3 months. This new storage option adds flexibility for patients with Hemophilia A and is now available for our HoG and Beacon clients. If you store the product at room temperature, you should clearly mark the date you begin to do so on the unopened box. Once stored at room temperature, the product must not be refrigerated. Kogenate FS expires after 12 months of storage at room temperature or the expiration date on the product vial, whichever is earlier.
