What to Know for Bleeding Disorders

Start researching plans early.
If you have a bleeding disorder, pay close attention to:

  • Deductibles
  • In-network coverage for Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs)

Bleeding disorder medication is expensive, and most patients meet their deductible early in the year. Your Hemophilia of Georgia social worker can help you evaluate plans that best meet your needs.
Georgia Access also offers tools to find local Certified Application Counselors and Navigators by county.

Be Cautious About Plan Changes

If you're contacted by an insurance agent offering to change your coverage, proceed carefully. You could be switched to a plan that doesn’t cover all your care.

If your plan changes or is terminated, contact your assigned HoG social worker. If you don’t have their direct number, call us at 770-518-8272.

Georgia Access will host events to help residents navigate the new system and get covered.
