HoG Nurses Top 5 Tips For Living Your Best Life With A Bleeding Disorder!

By Coleen Lou, Director of Communications

Published December 19, 2023

As the new year begins, many people will think about ways to improve their health because of the impact that has on our lives and overall well-being. Hemophilia of Georgia (HoG) patients and their families know the critical role HoG Outreach Nurses have on their health and the significant impact they can have on their well-being. To many, our Outreach Nurses feel like family and are often the first people patients call when they are having a health challenge. Their goal is to help people with bleeding disorders live as normally and productively as possible.

With that in mind our Director of Nursing, Jennifer Crabbe, and her team of Outreach Nurses put together a top 5 list of tips for living a healthier life with a bleeding disorder:

1. Get an annual comprehensive checkup at a Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC)
2. Treat bleeding events early and adequately
3. Exercise and maintain a healthy weight to protect your joints
4. Perform routine dental care
5. Prioritize your mental health

HoG Outreach Nurses are here to help you and hope you find these tips helpful. Our nurses are dedicated to partnering with you to improve your health through comprehensive health care, education, advocacy, and the support of research. If you have any questions, please contact your nurse directly. If you need Outreach Nursing Services, please contact 770-518-8272.
