The Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation Supports Camp Wannaklot

Published February 4, 2016

Creating a strong community has always been the heart of the business at Dunkin’ Brands, and Hemophilia of Georgia is proud to announce The Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation’s (DDBRCF) investment and support of Camp Wannaklot in 2016.

Camp Wannaklot, a week-long residential summer camp, is the only camp in Georgia that provides children who have hemophilia or other inherited bleeding disorders the opportunity to enjoy a traditional camp experience.  During this fun-filled week, campers make new friends, learn about their bleeding disorder, and share new experiences.

The Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation’s $5,000 contribution to support Camp Wannaklot directly covers the cost of ten campers to attend Camp Wannaklot in July for a week at Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge, Georgia.

“Hemophilia of Georgia is grateful for The DDBRCF’s support of Camp Wannaklot.  Camp Wannaklot provides an environment for children with inherited bleeding disorders to participate in a traditional summer camp experience and recognizes that each child is an individual with unique physical and emotional needs,” said Maria Manahan, CEO of Hemophilia of Georgia.  Maria continued, “The DDBRCF serves as a community leader with their generous commitment to serving children with hemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders.”

The Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation has been supporting communities since 2006. “DDBRCF is honored to support the inherited bleeding disorder community in Georgia,” said Celia Cody, Field Marketing Manager for Dunkin’ Brands.  “Camp Wannaklot provides children with unique opportunities, and we are proud to help provide a safe and special place for children with inherited bleeding disorders to have fun and participate in educational activities.”

In 2016, Camp Wannaklot will be held July 3rd through 8th.  All campers participate in a wide variety of fun activities including horseback riding, canoeing, biking, arts and crafts, swimming, basketball, tennis, archery and educational experiences.

The Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation has been helping to ensure the basic needs of our communities since 2006. The DDBRCF’s mission is to serve our neighborhoods through hunger relief, children’s health and safety initiatives. Through the generosity of our franchisees, employees, vendors and guests, the DDBRCF raises funds to support nonprofit organizations making a difference in communities across the United States.  Since its founding, The DDBRCF has awarded $8 million in grants to local charities.
