Give the Gift of Opportunity

Published June 9, 2014

Each year, the John Youtsey Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Georgia residents affected by hemophilia or other bleeding disorders and to students who have lost a parent to complications from a bleeding disorder. Through this program, Hemophilia of Georgia provides financial assistance to clients who are motivated and talented but lack the resources to achieve their educational goals.

For a person who has a bleeding disorder, a college degree can mean the difference between a comfortable life with medical insurance and a struggle to find resources to pay for clotting factor. With graduation season upon us, what better way to give tribute to your loved ones but with a gift in their honor?

We asked the 2013 scholarship recipients what the John Youtsey Memorial Scholarship meant to them. In their own words, they express the significance of the scholarship:

It means I have:

“…the tools necessary to complete my degree.”

“…the chance to make an impact.”

“…the support of the bleeding disorder community to pursue my dreams.”

“…the financial support I need to make college a reality.”

“  the opportunity to accomplish my dreams.”

The 2014-15 scholarships will be awarded this summer. Make a lifelong difference for a deserving student by contributing to the scholarship fund today.
