NovoSeven RT Announces Launch of New MixPro

Novo Nordisk is introducing a new design for reconstituting NovoSeven RT. The new “MixPro” kits contain the recombinant factor VIIa in a vial which can now be mixed with a pre-filled syringe of sterile diluent that is also included in the box. Each kit contains a vial of NovoSeven RT powder, a vial adapter, a pre-filled syringe with diluent and a plunger rod. There are fewer steps to mix and fewer vials and syringes to carry, which means added convenience to patients. Everything is together in one box (per dose). NovoSeven RT is available in 4 strengths: 1mg, 2mg, 5mg and 8mg. The pre-filled syringe in each dosing size package contains the appropriate amount of sterile diluent needed for reconstituting.
Hemophilia of Georgia and Beacon pharmacies will be depleting their current inventories of the old NovoSeven RT during April and May and transitioning to the new product as soon as possible after the May 1st release date. Outreach Nurses will schedule home visits with patients to demonstrate the new easier steps for mixing. Please call the pharmacy staff if you have any questions!
