School In-Services
Horizons In Hemophilia, Fall 2006
By Leesa Warshauer, Outreach Nurse
The summer is over, fall is on the way and it's time for kids to go back to school. To ensure a safe and productive school year, a school in-service may be needed. The purpose is to educate school personnel about your child's bleeding disorder. In-services are given by an HoG outreach nurse. We talk about bleeding disorders, first-aid, how to treat a minor or serious problem, activities and classroom expectations. In-services are available to all schools and daycare providers, or other programs that your child may be attending during the school year.
HoG will be mailing the in-service request forms out to families. If you want an in-service, please sign and return the form. Generally, the child's teacher(s), a PE coach, and a school nurse, if available, will be asked to attend. The in-service is open to all school personnel. On the form there is a place for the school contact number and the person responsible for scheduling the in-service. The HoG outreach nurses are ready to help with the new school year. Give us a call!
