Inclement Weather and Your Bleeding Disorder Medication
Below is important information regarding your bleeding disorder medication:
• If you lose power for an extended period, don’t throw your bleeding disorder medication away!
- Factor products are stable at room temperature for 3-6 months or the expiration date listed, whichever comes first. (READ THE FINE PRINT ON EACH BOX!)
- Hemlibra is stable for seven days at room temperature. (READ THE FINE PRINT ON EACH BOX!)
- If your product reaches room temperature, DO NOT RETURN IT TO THE REFRIGERATOR FOR STORAGE.
- Call the HoG pharmacy with any questions about storage; a pharmacist is on-call 24/7 at 770- 518-8272.
• It is recommended you have a cooler on hand to store factor for an extended amount of time.
• Hydration is a must for successful infusions. Always keep adequate amounts of bottled water on hand.
• If you are low on product, make sure to order your refills immediately.
• Due to inclement weather, Fed-Ex, and UPS shipments maybe delayed.
