Celebrating HoG Nurses During National Nurses Week May 6–12

By Coleen Lou, Director of Communications

Published April 28, 2024

National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6 and ends on May 12, Florence Nightingale's birthday. Just as Nightingale carried her lamp through the night to check on wounded soldiers, today’s nurses have shined their light on everyone in our community.

There is no better time to celebrate nurses and show them our appreciation than right now! This year’s theme for International Nurses Day (#IND2024) is “Nurses: A Voice to Lead - Invest in Nursing and respect rights to secure global health.” We know that nurses across the country and around the globe are leading voices for global health. Nurses step forward to help others and are a special breed of healers and doers. We appreciate everything that our Hemophilia of Georgia nurses do every day and want to express our love and support for all they do consistently for everyone else in our community!

A big shout out to HoG’s amazing nursing staff: Stephanie Matz, Vice President of Clinical Services, Jennifer Crabbe, Director of Nursing; Rebecca Babkiewicz, Director of Telehealth; Courtney Gustin, Clinical Nurse Coordinator; and our AMAZING team of Outreach Nurses: Katrina Bennett, Alicia Casucci, Karen Clark, Amen Detti, Theresa Knapp, Hollie Macenczak, and Shelby Stroughter. Additionally, we celebrate Julie Hayman, Director of Payer Solutions, who is a registered nurse.
